if you listen hard to silence, you'll hear thunder deep inside.

"the inscription above the door announced that we had thrown off the shackles of the bosses and organized ourselves; we were a collective"

coup d'état has been collectivized! (if you didn't know already)

we were a collective before, y'know, with all that collecting everyone else's work and making a zine out of it. but now I've decided to essentially expand coup d'état as a platform for working together with other zines and collectives to produce more cool shit than ever before. an example of this? well, recently friends nolan and matt sent me a copy of their zine CHANGE TIME and asked me if I could print it for them due to the fact that they lacked the funds to do it themselves. I, of course, happily agreed to help them out with their endeavor and printed off 25 copies for them. see? we worked collectively to produce something we all wanted. want to help out in your own way? please do! need advice about creating zines or anything else? ask! we're all here to help each other out! join the coup d'état collective.

I'll make lethargy my enemy....
it's been about three months since an issue of coup has been released and I intend to change that asap. I've gotten a few submissions from various people (thanks if you submitted something!) and at this point I'm just looking for time to put it all together. after that, it's just a matter of printing, which is a task in and of itself. If you have some free time, come help me print!

issue six includes interviews with cody of Sabertooth Zombie, jason of Kid Dynamite and veganTHIS! as well as various other articles, poems, photos etc.

troy and other members of the KSPC free lunch collective need your help! the following is communiqué sent out by them:

Dear you.

A few of us at KSPC are embarking on a project that will twist this universe beyond its wildest imagination.

We will release live sets recorded by bands that perform at the station. The releases will come in either CD, tape, or vinyl format (limited to about 30-50 for each group). Each release will be accompanied by a collection of donated art from the local and global community. It will all be compiled into a lunch box or brown paper bag.

The releases will be handed out for free by the band, as well as shipped to different participants throughout the world. All who receive the luxury of our anti-product will be instructed to 1) burn the record to their computer, 2) contribute some piece of work to the box, and 3) mail/give the recording to someone else. The locations will be tracked on the blog, and the FREE LUNCH will continue to grow larger as time moves on (assuming we make it past 2012).

This is being done to directly confront record labels and all forms of intellectual property!
